Following the release of their first single (Rhonda) in two years - April 2022, "Lookout Johnny" comes at a time when the band looks to keep growing rapidly, having already quadrupled their lifetime streams in just three weeks. In contrast to its predecessor, the track is a bright, vintage, power pop banger, calling to mind the 90's catalogues of Teenage Fanclub and Wilco. The song recounts the true story of an awkward love triangle experienced in college, from which friendship ultimately prevailed.
